An incredible fairytale-themed hotel has opened in Tenerife complete with a castle to make sure you can enjoy a holiday like royalty.

The Fantasia Bahia Principe Tenerife has officially opened for business, and it looks just as magical as the name makes it sound.

Costing £70 million to build, the hotel boasts a water park, a wellness centre, five restaurants and seven swimming pools – so I don’t think there’s ever chance of you getting bored while you’re there. Let’s just hope there’s enough sun beds to accommodate everyone!

To emphasise the fairytale theme, the hotel has made an incredible feature out of the white castle, situated at the heart of the 480,000 square feet of space.

The castle will be used to entertain guests by being the backdrop to light shows and performances sure to make everyone watching feel like royalty.

The website describes:

This new family vacation paradise in Spain will thrill children and adults alike. You will live in the Hesperides Garden and take a stroll around the famous “thousand-year-old Drago” – there are many surprises just waiting to be discovered.

Multimedia entertainment, enchanting spaces, unforgettable activities and dozens of special services for the perfect family holidays.

To add the necessary element of fantasy in to the fairytale theme, the hotel also has a ‘Dragon Tree’, and while it doesn’t do anything particularly dragon-y – like spread wings and breathe fire, the tree is named after a legend of the island, making it that bit  more mystical.

The tree is used to pay tribute to Tenerife’s ancient legend of the Garden of the Hesperides, a story packed with dragons, heroes and magical apples.

Restaurants and bedrooms in the hotel are themed, making sure every waking minute of your time in the hotel is filled with wonder – and more importantly for the parents, making sure the kids never lose interest in the lovely holiday you’ve provided them.

There are a whole range of family-friendly activities ready and waiting for your arrival, including a children’s club, Bahia Spa – complete with tailor-made treatments for kids – and a teens’ club with private disco.

I always think teens’ clubs are strange places. They’re specifically designed for people who are at the age where they definitely don’t want to try and mix with strangers, and they definitely don’t want to do it while dancing.

The club will probably more likely be filled with tumbleweed and chirping crickets than socialising, dancing teenagers, but it’s the thought that counts.

On top of all of these excellent features, the Fantasia Bahia Principe Tenerife is all-inclusive, so you happily can eat and drink your way through the holiday without having to worry about being fed poisoned apples.

According to The Mirror, Isabel Piñero, vice president of marketing and communications for Grupo Piñero, said:

The opening of Fantasia Bahia Principe Tenerife marks several milestones for our company.

On one hand, it consolidates and reaffirms our commitment to Spain, where seven of our 25 hotels are located.

On the other hand, it allows us to present a new brand to the market: Fantasia, which we believe will put us at the forefront of entertainment innovation in the all-inclusive segment for families worldwide.

I know where I want to go for my next holiday!
